CBN’s action on eve of  International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

NEW DELHI. Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) has stepped up its preventive activities to intercept illegal drugs as well as apprehend drug traffickers.  On the eve of celebration of 26 June - International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Central Bureau of Narcotics has reported the following seizures and arrests in different parts of the country.  The sustained work being done by the sleuths of Central Bureau of Narcotics has yielded remarkable  results as under.

On 13/06/2008

On the basis of information the preventive party of Central Bureau of Narcotics’ District Opium Officer, Chittorgarh seized 2.200 kgs of Opium from a house at Tehsil Kpasan.  One person has been arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act.

 

 

On 15/06/2008

On the basis of information the preventive party of Central Bureau of Narcotics’ Dy. Narcotics Commissioner, Lucknow seized 0.280 kgs of Heroin at

Barabanki-Zaidpur Road
, District, Barabanki (U.P.).  Three persons have been arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act.

 

 

On 20/06/2008

Central Bureau of Narcotics’ Preventive & Intelligence Cell Jaora seized 0.440 kgs of Heroin and 0.700 kgs of formula at Bus Stand Banswara, District Pratapgarh (Rajasthan). Two persons have been arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act.

 

 

On 21/06/2008

Acting on specific information developed by CBN Hqrs. Gwalior Preventive Wing a combined team from Hqrs., Gwalior, Ratlam, Ujjain and Neemuch supervised by the Asstt. Narcotics Commissioner, Neemuch seized illicit psychotropic substance Alprazolam weighing 5.2 kgs and 2 grams of Ephedrine along with a Ford Fiesta Car from Indrapuri Colony, Indore.  Two persons have been arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act. In follow up action further 5.2 kgs Alprazolam was seized from a shop at Bhawar Kua, Indore. Further the premise of the licensed stockist was also raided and 52 kgs of Alprazolam was seized.  The licensee is absconding.

 

 

On 22/06/2008

Central Bureau of Narcotics’ Preventive & Intelligence Cell, Jaipur seized 6.300 kgs of unclaimed Opium from a Rajasthan Roadways bus at Shivdaspura near Jaipur.

 

 

On 23/06/2008

Central Bureau of Narcotics’ Preventive & Intelligence Cell, Chittorgarh has arrested One person who was absconding and wanted in the seizure of 1.500 kgs of Opium effected by Central Bureau of Narcotics on 11/05/2007 has been finally apprehended as per the order of the NDPS Court, Chittorgarh and sent to judicial custody.

 

 

On 25/06/2008

Acting on information a preventive team of Central Bureau of Narcotics’ Dy. Narcotics Commissioner Lucknow seized 1.510 kgs of Heroin from the possession of a person at District Rampur (U.P.).  One person has been arrested under the provisions of NDPS Act.
