A powerful lobby of IRS Officers has been ruling the Department and many honest officers have been side-tracked. CBEC needs to wake up from its deep slumber and all IRS Officers of dubious reputation who have managed successive field postings need to be urgently moved to non-sensitive postings to avoid further explosions and undue harassment of trade.
